New Directions & Website Update

Sorry for the lack of updates, Double-Take Industries has gone through a few changes since the last post. As you can see the website has been upgraded. We are now running the site through wordpress which will make it much easier to update the website, add products, events, news, etc. The goal is to make at least one post per week.

Now that that’s out of the way, I’ve been working on taking Double-Take Industries into the yo-yoing industry for the last few months, the most major piece was by organizing the Idaho State Yo-Yo Championships (June 20th, 2009) under the DTIndustries title. What I’ve been working on in the wake of the contest are:

1. A Yo-Yo T-Shirt

I have five different concepts ready to be produced but the first one is the Yo-Yo Tree concept, I had Emily Butcher from Talon Tattoo near the Western Idaho Fairgrounds do the art work for me and the results were phenomenal, The shirt will be gray and the art will be printed in black (for that artsy look).

An amazing piece of art thanks to the hard work of Emily Butcher of Talon Tattoo's in Boise, ID.

2. A literal yo-yo by DTI

Bradley Raley (@BradleyRALEY on Twitter), an amazing guy (and Yo-Yoer) whom I met in Florida while on the Go-Giver Tour has been helping me make a CAD drawing of my yo-yo concept so I can take it to a machinist or manufacturer to get it produced. This yo-yo will be produced in plastic for the beginner/advanced yo-yoer and in aluminum for the advance/expert yo-yoer. The first run will be made of aluminum and will be called the Base Boost. I’m not sure what it will retail for yet, I’d like to keep the plastic one around $15.00 and the aluminum one under $100.00. We’ll see. I’ll post pictures of the design once either the prototype has been created or I find a way to protect it; I’m really nervous about sharing too much.

3. A Yo-Yo Video Contest

Thanks to Adam Schultz of Threadz Yo-Yo Strings hosting his own yo-yo video contest (which I won with my ‘Trick Machine video: view here) I decided to host one as well and will be continually doing so on a monthly basis. This month I’m giving away a Black DTI Logo shirt. If you’d like to check out the contest information video or see videos that are being submitted by entrants check out the youtube page for the contest here or view the video below.

That’s it for now! Have a great day!

Website and Company AND Product Development

Well Double-Take Industries now has a shop in Emmett, Idaho at 202 W. Main St (Suite A) open from 11:00AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday. Our grand opening was yesterday and we had a HUGE turn out! Over 30 people stuffed themselves into our shop and we all had to smash up against the wall for the Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. I’ll make sure to upload a picture and link to the local news paper’s site when they publish the article about it.

The website has also been updated to include our services (custom t-shirts as well as the yo-yo class we provide. You can view that page by clicking HERE.

Also; We are now in the process of developing yo-yo related clothing for the yo-yoing industry. We are tired of seeing the contest footage videos of people with shirts that say ‘COMPANY NAME’ across the chest! Sure it’s great to show your support for a company you enjoy but the fact of the matter is there is very little clothing out there to act as an alternative to these brand shirts. So we are working with a couple of the local tattoo shops to get some killer designs thrown together for your wearing pleasures! Expect the first one by the end of March!

Have a nice day!

Website and Company Development

Well we’re getting a little bit closer to opening the doors to the general public for the DTI shop! We’re currently seeking fixtures for the shop (tables, store counter, shelving, seats, etc.) and are also in the process of developing our first Catalog. We’ve also updated the website a little. As you can see we’ve added the pages “Yo-yoing, Skateboarding, and Forum”. The Yo-Yoing page is going to hold information regarding the soon to be Yo-Yo Class, Yo-Yo Team, and the 2009 Idaho Yo-yo Championships (www.idyyc09.com). The Skateboarding Page will hold information about all DTI Skateboarding Competitions, including the upcoming 2009 DTI Gem County Skateboard Competition. It will also hold information about the soon to be DTI Skate Team, which will be in charge of organizing and developing the DTI Skateboard Competitions as well as Skateboarding Related DTI products. More info later, have a nice day!

Website and Company Development

Hey everyone! We’ve been doing a lot of work over the past five months; the website has been updated within an inch of its life, we finally obtained our own screen printing equipment, and we are opening a shop at 202 W. Main Street in Emmett, Idaho. It’s a smaller shop but it’s a great location to start out of and we’re very excited! We plan on being entirely moved in within the next month, soonest will be two weeks from now. At the moment we are developing our catalog that will cover both custom t-shirt orders as well as contain all of our existing and ‘to be created’ products. This will be ready in time for the Grand Opening of the shop. Additionally we are currently developing a design to commemorate the Grand Opening of our first shop; the design will be available only at the shop, so please come check it out and help support us in our efforts to achieve a brick and mortar location!

Website and Product Development

Hey everyone! As you can see we’ve totally redesigned the website and we are very excited! We will be moving our shirt logos and store information over to this design throughout the next week. You may also notice none of the pages are working, that’s because they don’t exist yet, we are taking care of this :) If you have any questions, comments, of suggestions click on my name to email me :)
